Teaching assistant

Key Responsibilities: * Provide tailored support to students with Special Educational Needs and Mental Health (SEMH) requirements, both in and out of the classroom. * Assist in the planning and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies. * Collaborate with classroom teachers and SENCO to create inclusive learning environments that cater to the diverse needs of all students. * Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their well-being and academic progress. * Support students in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and self-esteem. * Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents. * Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times. Requirements: * Previous experience working with young people with SEMH needs is highly desirable. * A genuine passion for supporting the educational and emotional development of young people. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents. * Flexibility, adaptability, and resilience in a dynamic school environment. * Relevant qualifications or willingness to undertake training in SEMH support. * Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).
