About the role As a Class Teacher and under the reasonable direction of the Head Teacher, carry out the professional duties of a teacher as outlined in the job description. You will ensure provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students studying in the curriculum area, in accordance with the aims of the school and the curricular policies. You will contribute to raising standards of student attainment and to facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their full potential. You will develop and enhance the teaching practice of others and to monitor and support the overall progress and development of students within the curriculum area. Educated to Qualified Teacher Status, you will be calm, engaging, resilient, and have an innovative style of teaching, motivated by helping every pupil to reach their potential. Wessex Lodge School currently comprises of two sites: Wessex Lodge School located in Frome, and Newmead Farm, located in Maiden Bradley. Both sites allow students the opportunity to explore the curriculum alongside a range of subject paths, including the likes of, animal care, horticulture, DT, and forest school, as well as sporting activities. Our students are aged between 8 and 18 years old. Each student has individual needs and, supported by the THRIVE approach, through a proven range of practitioner-led services and our talented staff, we can help to improve life outcomes for every student. The established staff team come from a variety of previous occupations and have a vast range of individual skills, which can be utilised, within this school.
