This HLTA position will work closely with students with the intention of creating a positive attitude to learning in a safe environment. About The School: The school prides itself on offering an alternative secondary provision that goes beyond traditional education. Situated in the heart of Somerset, the school is dedicated to providing a supportive and nurturing environment where every student can thrive academically, emotionally, and socially. The school caters to students who have had a tough start in life and have experienced degrees of Trauma previously, therefore they will need support in regulating emotions. Most students will have additional needs such as ASC and SLCN #39;s also. The provision have a structured timetable with a high focus on gaining Maths and English GCSE #39;s and enrichment and life skills based learning. There may be some gaps in learning so Primary experienced teachers will also be considered. A HLTA will: * Demonstrate enthusiasm and tenacity to work in sometimes challenging and highly rewarding environment * Maintain highest level of professional standards set out by the provision * Have experience working with SEN as a HLTA, or possess a willingness to learn and develop alternative approaches to meet diverse needs of the students * Commit to creating a safe and supportive learning environment. * Possess a compassionate and empathetic approach to education * Have experience in de-escalation (desirable), training will be provided.
