Junior buyer

Location: Cambridge (CB23) Duration: Permanent Hours: 8:30am until 5pm (Monday to Friday) Salary: GBP28000 with a joining bonus of GBP1,500 after 6 months successful employment Job Reference: 35201 Polytec are looking for an enthusiastic Junior Buyer for our client based just outside Cambridge. Responsibilities: * Negotiate contracts, improve prices, terms of business and agreements with suppliers * Quarterly supplier visits (mainly UK based) * Run shortages reports to capture all order changes * Consistent supplier contact to ensure efficient flow of product to match demand * Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers * Research and evaluate areas of opportunity and reduce costs where possible * Update the Sales Team with delivery schedules * Update the Sales Boards with supply information * Ensure Purchase Orders are sent and received by vendors * Add order acknowledgement information to MRP system Requirements: * Experience with Vendor Management * Competent with MS Office, particularly Excel * Proven experience as a Buyer * Strong administrative background * Excellent communication skills * Confident working with internal and external customers Please contact us as soon as possible for more details or apply below
