Early finish on Fridays, GBP40k-GBP60k per annum, working for a very reputable company, benefits, job security, growth opportunities Pipe Designer / Surveyor Location ndash; Calmore, Southampton Pay - GBP40k-GBP60k per annum Hours - Monday to Thursday ndash; 07:30 - 17:30 Friday ndash; 07:30 - 13:30 My client is a very well established mechanical engineering organisation offering complete project services to a variety of industries including Petro-Chemical, Oil Gas, Power, Water and Pharmaceutical. With more than 20 years rsquo; experience working with very well known and trusted clients. They have gone through sustained growth year on year over the past few years and with long term contracts secured, therefore this role provides long term job security and growth opportunities. The purpose of the role is to attend site visits and provide detailed manufacturing drawings for purchasing and manufacturing purposes. Complete like for like drawings of equipment. Produce detailed piping and steelwork drawings. Create new designs and concepts. You will assist the companies CAD department in generating construction drawings for piping assemblies and structural steelwork. The role will include working closely with the both the site installation team and the workshop engineering department. A vast amount of experience in undertaking site surveys on petrochemical sites, power stations, pumping stations, gas plants etc will be required. Roles / Responsibilities ndash; * Create detailed manufacturing drawings to assist fabrication including, General arrangements, part drawings, developments, and templates. * Produce Piping and Steelwork fabrication drawings in the form of Isometrics, General arrangements, and orthographics. * Adhere to P IDs when designing pipework drawings. * Review check detailed design drawings of piping systems, supports and steelwork in accordance with industry standards, codes and client specifications. * Survey and produce design drawings for like for like equipment replacements and equipment modifications. * Prepare check bill of materials. * Provide technical input during detailed engineering of projects. * Provide support and input into the preparation of manufacturing work packs. Skills / Experience - * Knowledge of piping design and calculations is an asset plus a good ability to work with a 3D model and various tools is advantageous. * Conversant with ASME BS EN standards. * Proficient in understanding petrochemical piping specifications with a strong emphasis on undertaking site surveys. * The ability to use AutoCAD drawing software would be very advantageous but not essential. * Sound Piping and steelwork experience within highly regulated industries including Oil, Gas, Petrochemical, and cryogenics. * Must hold a full UK driving licence. * Must be computer literate. * To have a good understanding and experience of working within safe working practices.
