Sen year 5 teacher

Briarwood SEND School are looking for a SEN Teacher for 5 weeks in Term 5 (15th April - 17th May) but possibly longer to work full time in a SEN Class. The work will be set and PPA will be available to the teacher. Briarwood is a fantastic school with 5 sites in Bristol. This class will be on their Juniors site and is the closest class that this school has to a mainstream classroom. About the role: - Full-time position as a SEN Teacher in a SEN School - Working with students with special educational needs - Planning and delivering lessons tailored to individual needs - Supporting students with their learning and development - Collaborating with SENCO and other staff members to create a supportive learning environment Requirements: - Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent - Experience working with students with special educational needs - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual needs - Passion for supporting students with additional needs Responsibilities: - Planning and teaching core and foundation subject lessons for 10 pupils working from pre-national curriculum levels through to national curriculum KS1 - The pupils have a range of severe learning difficulties and complex needs where a fully adapted curriculum is provided for them with repetition, total communication approaches and carefully scaffolded steps for progression are planned out - Working with a supportive and specialised team of support staff - Some of the pupils have medical needs, they are supported by fully trained staff - Further CPD and support can be provided through out curriculum handbooks, in house training and CPD offer - Assessment, recording and reporting in relation to pupil progress towards EHCP targets and curriculum targets on our assessment system required (competent levels of ICT) - Working with multi professionals to ensure the pupils needs are met and strategies put into place **Zen Educate offers teachers and teaching assistants the opportunity to achieve a better work life balance.** With flexible working options and support in finding the right role, Zen Educate prioritises the well-being and success of all teaching staff.
