Mechanical utilities engineer

Our client is seeking a skilled Mechanical Utilities Engineer to work 12-hour days/night shift (set shift pattern over 3-5 years). Starting salary: GBP46,661 pa with shift allowance After 3 years rising to GBP52,810 pa with shift allowance The Utilities Mechanical Operator will have ownership for the following areas: * CHP * WWTP * Compressed air systems * Steam systems * Nitrogen systems * Utility water systems * Barometric water system * All Drains * Clean Ditch * Gas Systems Utilities Mechanical Operator duties: * Responsible for monitoring the wastewater treatment plant and making sure all compliance limits are achieved * Responsible for power generation and steam production in the CHP plant. * To provide mechanical service and support for emergency breakdowns and other mechanical duties out of hours. * Responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the department following a GMP schedule. * To supervise contractor when turnkey projects are in place. * Maintain high standard of cleanliness following GMP guidelines * Perform small maintenance related jobs and liaise with maintenance department * Ensure product throughput and quality is maintained to the required levels and specification. * Responsible for some site inspection with the use of a digital auditor (Drain system, Lagging, steam leak, air leaks and others) * Report to the Utilities Manager and support the shift manager out of hours. * Responsible for liaising with other process departments to insure all utilities are run smoothly * To provide mechanical support for production breakdowns out of hours (1600hrs to 0700hrs weekdays, weekend days/nights). Skills and experience required: * City guilds / B Tech qualification or equivalent * At least 3 years rsquo; experience as a fully qualified E I or Mechanical Engineer * Boiler Operation Accreditation Scheme (BOAS) is beneficial * Water Treatment plant knowledge is beneficial * Basic computer skills
