Senior engineer control systems

Our client is currently recruiting for a permanent Senior control systems engineer. You will need to have high levels of initiative and attention to detail whilst working to tight deadlines. As a Senior Engineer you will be responsible for providing project leadership to successfully deliver your own projects, as well as supporting those of others. Applying technical knowledge and experience to interesting and challenging projects for a wide variety of customers, markets and sectors. Supporting engineers, ensuring they are developing skills and capabilities whilst using the most appropriate methods. Generating and maintaining relationships with customers at an appropriate level. You will have: bull; Degree educated in mechanical, electrical, electronic or control system engineering or related discipline OR equivalent demonstrable experience. bull; Experience in control systems development in automotive. bull; An aptitude for solving engineering problems, and experience in finding supporting resources. bull; Experience in key software tools within automotive engineering (Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow, CANape) bull; Able to follow key engineering processes and procedures bull; High level of numeracy, an ability to apply analytical approaches and strong problem-solving skills bull; Able to quickly understand complex technical concepts bull; Strong written and verbal communication skills Additional: bull; The command of a foreign language is always a benefit in a company with global reach particularly, French, German, Korean. bull; Awareness of the commercial approach of a consultancy business will be advantageous. Key Responsibities: - Application of technical knowledge and experience to provide innovative engineering solutions to meet a variety of customer requirements bull; Use of and proficient in appropriate software related to your engineering background bull; Where appropriate, undertake Project Lead role; leading a small/medium project team to deliver a successful project outcome; from both a technical and commercial perspective bull; Development of embedded control systems and dynamic models in MATLAB / Simulink, including requirements capture, design and verification bull; Specify and prepare sensors, actuators, instrumentation, wiring and data logging requirements bull; Debugging of software on real time controllers bull; Measure electronic/electrical signals using of oscilloscopes and multimers bull; Supervise technicians with build, test and measurement procedures and supporting documentation bull; Support control testing and data analysis activities bull; Plan, support and undertake functional vehicle development bull; Undertake data logging and calibration in rigs/vehicles using CANape or INCA bull; Continuous awareness of automotive functional safety ISO26262 bull; Identify problems in a timely manner and ensure the best engineering solutions are applied bull; Support and develop engineers within the control system function bull; Present and communicate technical and commercial information, clearly and concisely, both internally and to customers bull; Take an active role in the continuous improvement initiatives within the Control System function bull; Generate and maintain relationships with customers at an appropriate level bull; Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with peers, business development and technical leaders bull; Support the business development team in the creation of technical project proposals and resourcing estimates bull; Contribute to and deliver technical conference and white papers If you are interested in the role please call Luke @ Skala (phone number removed) or apply with your up to date CV online
