Job Title: Medical Secretary Responsible to: Practice Manager Responsible for: N/A Job Purpose: To provide an efficient and timely secretarial and administration service to the doctors, Practice manager and other team members. Duties and Responsibilities Secretarial Duties 1. Type letters, reports and other documents as required by the partners, Practice manager and other team members 2. Liaise with hospital and community departments regarding patient care, appointments, etc, incorporating ERS 3. Ensure telephone enquiries are dealt with in a courteous and timely manner and take messages as appropriate 4. Circulate agendas and take Minutes of meetings as required 5. Process all incoming and outgoing mail 6. Maintain referrals database 7. Send and receive emails/faxes 8. Undertake photocopying as required 9. Filing Administration Duties 10. Action tasks as required 11. Maintain audit data re hospital DNAs 12. Update EDT docman letters daily/update website information 13. Maintain address book on computer system 14. Monitor progress of 2 week cancer referrals 15. Participate in providing holiday/sickness cover for scanning, and other admin duties as required General 16. Observe health and safety guidelines at all times 17. Any other reasonable duties that may be required from time-to-time
