Deliver required levels of availability, reliability and performance. Adhere to relevant industry, government and Home Office standards. Are robust and affordable. Are comprehensive and forward looking. You will be focusing on small scale transitions with a relatively low impact, however, through transitioning projects to live service in a safe and structured manner, underpinned by strong stakeholder management skills, you will play a key role in linking projects and programmes with the operation and support of the ongoing services. Your key stakeholders will include support services, change managers and other members of the DDaT community. You will need to consider people, processes, suppliers and tooling to deliver on the strategy set by senior members of your team, following best practice processes, methodology and approaches. As part of the Home Office DDaT IT Operations community you will contribute to developing best practice standards for service transition and continual improvement. Due to business requirements, this role is only available full time. Job description Your main day to day responsibilities will be: Supporting the process to transition new services into live in a safe and structured manner, ensuring a consistent set of operational requirements are incorporated into service designs. Driving work forward to meet delivery deadlines, without compromising quality of delivered service and putting in place agreed Service Levels. Working collaboratively by establishing and maintaining strong relationships with project teams, Service Management and third-party suppliers to solve problems and overcome obstacles. Assisting in developing policies, processes and procedures in line with best practice to deliver quality services and ensuring these are appropriately documented. Supporting with the design and transitioning new services to meet the needs of Portfolio and Product teams, under guidance from the Service Architect. Creating a Service Design Package document drawing on knowledge of the service and the Service Architect. Recruitment and Retention Allowance (RRA) This post is eligible for a DDaT RRA. Successful Candidates with exceptional skills and experience may be assessed for RRA between (edit accordingly: £3,000 - £8,300). This allowance is subject to an initial review within six months of taking up the post and thereafter an annual review in-line with departmental priorities and could be reduced or withdrawn at any time. Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. Where this is the case, employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in the office. Applicants can discuss any specific questions with the Vacancy Holder. Productive working relationships with project and support teams through effective communication and stakeholder management. Producing high quality deliverables in a variety of contexts / environments within time constraints. Applying a structured and methodical approach to problem solving in the most efficient way. Applying a breadth of knowledge of technical skills and applications. Working in enterprise scale IT transition teams and adhering to industry best practice . Desirable criteria: Ideally you will also have the following skills or some experience in: Change management, release management and incident management. Translating user stories and proposing design approaches or services to meet these needs. Being cognisant of many facets of the technical environment, for example tooling and configuration, patterns of business, change and impacts and instrumentation of assets. Understanding of Lean, Agile and DevOps principles within a Product-centric delivery model. Qualifications ITIL v3/v4 Foundation is desirable. Service Management Framework Qualification is desirable.
