Please find further information on the Corporate hub locations here. About the job Job summary Are you an experienced leader in IT Service Continuity? Are you someone with a background in defining and delivering strategies to recover IT Services or protect them from significant risks and threats, including cyber attacks? As the Lead IT Service Continuity Manager you will be responsible for setting the vision and strategy for IT Service Continuity Management in DWP Digital according to industry and organisational best practise standards, ensuring processes are owned and matured. You will also be responsible for understanding the evolving nature of threat vectors, risks affecting services and product support in line with our overall Disaster Recovery and Digital Service Management processes and policies. The vision and strategy that you will be responsible for will include ensuring recovery strategies and plans are defined, documented, agreed, and tested for site fail-over, in service resilience, data recovery and full-service recovery from security/cyber-attacks. You will represent IT Service Continuity Management at a senior level, acting as an escalation point for Business stakeholders, and lead a team ensuring adequate resources and capacity are available to deliver value outcomes to the Business. Job description As a Lead IT Service Continuity Manager, you will: Lead and define the strategic vision for ITSCM in DWP Digital, communicating key principles and working with senior leaders to integrate the ITSCM approach across the organisation Be accountable for the delivery, governance or assurance of the ITSCM Test Programme and Process according to industry and organisational best practise standards and service requirements and KPIs Lead and manage the IT Service Continuity Management Capability, including coordinating activities and resources. Recruit, develop and manage Capability staff. Promote effective team dynamics and collaboration Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and promote the Capability Communicate the Capability mission and objectives to stakeholders, working with them to ensure optimal outcomes for DWP Optimise plans based on business needs and available resources, applying strategic thinking to optimise outcomes Champion and promote the importance and value of all aspects of IT Service Continuity Management Develop the strategic and tactical IT Recovery Roadmaps for technologies and services in areas of responsibility, ensuring they are future proofed, and that the organisation derives maximum value from investment in new technologies. Salary Information Pay for this role is from £69,869 to £77,740. Our offer to successful candidates will be based on an assessment of your skills and experience as demonstrated at interview. Existing Civil Servants who secure a new role on lateral transfer should maintain their current salary. Existing Civil Servants who gain promotion may move to the bottom of the next grade pay scale or 10% increase in salary whichever would be the greater. When giving details in your employment history and personal statement you should highlight your experience in line with essential criteria below: Responsibility for setting the vision and strategy for IT Service Continuity Management in a large organisation according to industry and organisational best practice standards, ensuring processes are owned and matured An in-depth understanding of the evolving nature of threat vectors and risks affecting services and product support in line with overall Disaster Recovery and Digital Service Management processes and policies Definition of differing types of recovery strategies including documenting and agreeing site fail-over, in service resilience, data recovery and full service recovery from security/cyber attacks A working knowledge of enterprise level IT infrastructure and complex applications, as well as the maintenance functions required of large, complex and highly integrated systems that are monitored by multiple monitoring tools integrated with Service Management tooling Demonstrable experience and/or certification (e.g ITIL) in applying Service Management Framework knowledge within a large IT Service Operations function (Event, Incident, Problem, Change, Release, Capacity, ITSCM and CSI) Use of significant, strategic leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively across all operational levels of the organisation as well as with suppliers and customers, using multiple methods of communication and managing stakeholder requirements accordingly.
